Instructions for Chairs

The durations of talks at CLMPST 2019

– Contributed talks and symposia talks: 30 minutes (including discussion)

– Invited lectures: 60 minutes (including discussion)

Rules for chairing contributed and symposia talk sessions:

1. All contributed papers are allotted 30 minutes in total (20-minute presentation + 10-minute discussion). Please note that a few sessions might have vacant slots, but even for these sessions, presentations should follow the 30-minute format. (Presentations based on contributed papers should not exceed the maximum time of 30 minutes under any circumstances.)

2. The order of presentations within sessions should always follow the order published in the official CLMPST 2019 program. The chairs should always check the latest version of the CLMPST 2019 program before their session starts.

3. In the case of on-site cancellations, chairs are asked to provide a 30-minute break in place of the cancelled presentation. It is important that chairs take these breaks so that people who move between sessions do not miss presentations they wish to attend.

4. Should you be chairing a session in which you are also a speaker, please ask one of the other speakers of the session to chair your presentation when it is your turn to present.

5. The assistants will supply water for the speakers and provide technical assistance if needed. If you encounter any problems during the session, please contact them.

6. The speakers will either upload their presentations online in advance, or from their own USB flash drives before the session starts. If the speakers use their own computers, they are asked to check during the breaks that they can successfully connect the computer to the projector.

7. In the event that a chair is not present at the session, please apply a DIY approach and chair the session mutually amongst the presenting speakers.

Arriving in Prague

BY PLANE
Václav Havel Airport Prague
Public transport options from the airport (http://www.dpp.cz/en/):
Bus 119 from the airport to Nádraží Veleslavín metro station, line A (green line)
Bus 100 from the airport to Zličín metro station, line B (yellow line)

You are required to buy a ticket, either from a ticket machine at the bus stop or at an information desk at the airport. You may find a list of all fares at http://www.dpp.cz/en/fares-in-prague/. We recommend purchasing the 32 CZK ticket. Do not forget to validate your ticket: insert it in the yellow box inside the bus and wait until you hear it being stamped with the time. This buys you 90 minutes’ transport and the ticket remains valid even if you change to the metro or get on a tram.

Taxi companies operating from the airport are available at https://www.prg.aero/en/taxi.
Uber also operates in Prague.

BY TRAIN
Public transport from Prague main railway station (http://www.dpp.cz/en/):
Hlavní nádraží metro station, line C (red line)

Transportation in Prague

Upon registration all participants will receive a travel pass which will allow them to use public transport (metro, trams, buses) for free for the whole duration of the congress.

Accommodation

Prague has become a highly popular tourist destination. For this reason we strongly recommend booking your accommodation as soon as possible. There are many options to choose from, many of which can be found on websites such as booking.com or airbnb.com. We suggest booking either in the area of the congress venue (Dejvice), or in the vicinity of metro A (green line) stations which allows for a quick and easy access to the conference venue as well as the city center. Upon registration participants will receive a travel card which will allow them to use the public transportation for free for the duration of the congress.
There are no special congress deals offered.
